John Small - 2plan Recruitment Director

John represents 2plan as a Recruitment Director and Independent Financial Adviser in Scotland. John lives in Argyll and is married to Mhorag and they have two children, Andrew (1987) and Rebecca (1990).

After school John joined the Merchant Navy and qualified as a deck officer. After coming ashore John was a district agent and then Financial Consultant with Prudential and left in 1992 to become an IFA. Over the last 20 years in financial services John has been with a tied sales force, a network, directly regulated and part of a national IFA and feels that this broad experience gives him a good insight into the problems IFA’s face dealing with their everyday businesses. John has been involved in recruitment from 2004 and previously he was a Business Consultant for Positive Solutions.

Away from work John can normally be found on the water. He is a keen sailor and is also an RYA qualified Advanced Powerboat Instructor. He teaches adults and children how to enjoy boats safely and competently. He also loves travelling abroad, reading and spending time with his family
